“World’s First 18 Wheel Realtor’s Client Courtesy Moving Van“
Most every move you make entails moving your belongings from your present home to your new home. Most Realtors never experience this phase, most often the most trying and difficult part, of their client’s relocation. They often see their clients for the last time at closing or dispersing keys. I have seen some of my clients hire professional movers with the big 18 wheelers and the people to load and unload them. I have seen some of my clients get all their relatives and friends with a bunch of pickups and move with several back and forth trips. I also have helped a few of my senior clients myself that did not have any relatives or surplus funds move and dealt with the truck rental, shuttle to pick the truck up, loading, driving, unloading and returning the truck and shuttling home. Having a Commercial Driving License and the skills to drive Semi Trucks learned from my Volunteer Wildland Firefighting experience I decided to get my own 18 wheeler and provide a limited courtesy service to assist my clients move. There are local moving personnel available to hire for a modest fee to load and unload the truck in most every city. For local relocation within 30 miles of Grants Pass I can drop off my trailer at your present home a week in advance of your move, pick it up when ready and take it to your new home and leave it for a week for you to unload. Out of town relocations will considered on an individual basis. The costs would be similar to renting a truck but without the rental fee. The client would only pay the average actual road costs that have been determined from the trucking industry. This typically would include fuel, a mileage fee to cover vehicle expense of depreciation, tires, maintenance, etc. and a hired commercial daily driver fee of $300 for overnight distances. This truck is NOT FOR HIRE and there will be no intended profit gained from this Client Courtesy Service. There would have to be unloaders lined up for the destination so the truck could return the next day.
Overall with proper planning and execution the move becomes easy, fast, and painless for my Clients… I moved a client from Sacramento and her street was too steep and windy to get up to the home. They rented the largest Uhaul available and brought everything down to my truck. It took 3 ½ truck loads to fill my truck. We delivered it to their new home here in Southern Oregon and left the trailer for a week so they could unload at their convenience.
